Astonishing athletes defy gravity and execute breathtaking feats as they stretch the limits of human ability in the New Shanghai Circus’ spellbinding show. Fearless performers with boundless energy embody more than two thousand years of Chinese circus traditions. If it's humanly possible-and even if it's not! - Shanghai's acrobats, jugglers and contortionists perform it with spectacular flair.
The show is a beautifully orchestrated presentation of Chinese circus acts dating back to harvest festivals of 2000 years ago. This modern day performance is enhanced by fabulous choreography, amazing lighting, enchanting scenery and powerful music.
Jazz in Jacoby
UCC Fine and Performing Arts presents GEORGINA PHILIPPSON in concert on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 7:30 pm in Jacoby Auditorium. Philippson’s concert is the closing event for 2012 JAZZ IN JACOBY, vocal jazz festival for all ages. This festival promotes jazz to a larger audience and encourages the performance of jazz by secondary schools, colleges, and community ensembles. JAZZ IN JACOBY events on Thursday include workshops with professional clinicians and performances by ensembles from Albany, Roseburg, and Sutherlin. Thursday clinics and performances are free and open to the public. Tickets for the evening performance are $7 per person or $15 per family and available at UCC Whipple Fine Arts and at the door. John Michael’s compositions are published in hymnals throughout the world. His newest album, “Worship and Bow Down” is the 53rd album in his 37 years in Christian Music Ministry. It is in joint venture with OCP and includes the New Roman Missal language.
His artistic and humanitarian efforts have been recognized with awards from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the Gospel Music Association, Mercy Corps and the Mother Teresa award.

The Southern Oregon Wine Institute at Umpqua Community College, together with ETS Laboratories, Scott Laboratories, and Oregon State University Extension Service, will present a technical symposium on March 13, 14, and 15. Topics will focus on techniques for monitoring and identifying potential problems in order to maximize wine quality wine in the cellar. The seminar will be given at three separate locations in the Rogue Valley, Umpqua Valley, and Southern Willamette regions.

This ensemble, showcasing the fantastic artistry of flamenco, is a magical collaboration commanded by the guitar wizardry of Chris Burton Jácome and enhanced by a vocalist, three flamenco dancers, a bassist and percussionist. Each show is a powerful interaction, unique and captivating. Flamenco is choreographed energy, and as the ensemble’s haunting songs and beautiful melodies combine with the awesome movement and rhythm of dance, the art of flamenco explodes onstage. Audience shouts of “Olé!” and “Toma!” become part of the experience, part of the passion of flamenco.
